The beauties of villages are described by the way villagers happily live in the small huts, made by mud with an open area with a vegetable garden at the backyard. The villagers are socially knit together, every evening chatting and talking. Most villagers are farmers who work in nearby fields. Mettumarudur village is a collection of mud-and-straw dwellings. These homes are generally small, consisting of one or two rooms with mud floors. . Mettumarudur people cook foods on a chula, a clay oven that burns firewood. People sit and sleep on cots of woven string, which are dragged outside on warm days. Many people    also sleep outside.Mettumarudur Indian village house are Eco- friendly in nature, made by bamboos and mud. The houses are mostly built of bamboo with thatched roofs. Wall and floor of the houses are by painted by a mixture of dirt, grass, and cow shit. Women work planting the rice paddy, while the men work pulling bullock carts, tilling new soil etc. They don’t dream for big house, vehicle, money etc, whatever they got that is enough to live their life happily”.-Govin
